Here are some scriptures that our Sat. Bible study received, need more time to read more and meditate on the word from the Bible and some common questions. We share them here and together to helped each other to understand the Bible better, and continues to strengthens our faith.

Colossians 1:15. Jesus is called the firstborn of all creation. Although the angels and mankind are called sons of God, only Jesus was “begotten”, that is produced by God. Notice it also says that Jesus is the image of God. This means he reflects God’s qualities. Such as humans also can, as described in Genesis 1:26.

John 17: 1, 5. So Jesus was an angel, residing along side God in heaven, even before the world was made. In fact, they made all the other angels and the universe together, as is shown in Colossians 1: 16, 17. Also Proverbs 8 is Jesus personified as wisdom. Notice verse 22- 31.

Now look back at John 17:4. What work did Jesus have to accomplish? 1 Timothy 2:3- 5, 6a tells us that he came to help mankind reconcile with God, and that he was being used as a ransom. Why do we need to be reconciled? Why is there need for a ransom?

Romans 5:18 tells us that because of Adam’s sin mankind was condemned, alienated from God. But because Jesus remained faithful to God, he could cover the cost of Adam’s life with his own, and therefore, we could have forgiveness of our sins and have a righteous standing with God.

Genisis 2:17 tells us that the cost of disobeying God was death. What do you think would have happened if Adam and Eve had not sinned? Would they have died? Or would they have been able to live forever?

Romans 6:23 sheds light on what God’s original purpose for Adam and Eve and all of makind was – everlasting life. And this he is still willing to give to those who put faith in his promise, which Jesus came to tell the world. Read also John 3:16,17.

May we continue to search into the “deep things of God” (1 Corinthians 2:10). And like the first-century Christians, may we continue to “examine the Scriptures daily as to whether these things were so” (Acts 17:11).

Finally, remember to turning to God in prayer, for he can give us peace and strength beyond what is normal (Philippians 4:6,7,13), so that we can endure and enjoy this life until the time when God will set things right and fulfill his promise as told at Revelation 21:4.
